disagreement vs accordance

I converted to life cultivation🤦🏻‍♀️

As you can see, my three antennas are in standby mode for transmission to Mars.

Hell hath no fury like a Science Western Culture Educated Man trying to transfer to a Wisdom Life Cultivation Practitioner of a foreign culture.

The outer-space ordeal is still lasting.

Awkwardly, I disagreed with an opinion and an inner voice appeared telling me, "You failed at your education".

Back to the contradictory garden of disagreement and accordance. 🏃

But there’s another contradictory garden that I’m still trying to figure out how to break out of, and that is "right and wrong", "true and false". For years I felt stuck in a push-and-pull-chamber to either agree with the proprietary view "When there is a headache, treat the head; where there is pain in the foot, treat the foot", be accepted, or disagree and be peculiar.

I purposed this entirety of my lifetime (and probably many more before this one) to be accepted by others and become an island connected to the mainland. Not to become more peculiar, while I sit on my island in the discomfort of disagreeing with the common sense and cutting off the bridge to the mainland.

I wouldn't recommend any person who is not ready to threaten the very foundation of their thinking and feeling system to life cultivation. It’s much more comfortable (and safe) to accord to everything other that is seen as right and true, and much harder to accord to something that has gotten tattooed all over your very body of being wrong and false (and unsafe).

Cath reminded me that the kind of work I do is somewhat "peculiar".

Not just the work of Yuan Qigong teacher, but the work of disrupting strong belief systems, abjuring long-held common sense, and applying and teaching life cultivation while living in a different culture.

That’s not easy work.

When was the last time you had a serious conversation with another human and responded with a far-fetched idea?

I sat in the café where I used to work during my university years with two friends, an awkward silence filling the table while both faces were looking expectantly at me, waiting for my response (it made me think of the word disapprobation. That was exactly the way I started to feel…), while I was revisiting what Cath had just said: "You know, I’ve not been feeling in good shape lately. My doctor disagrees. My blood test is perfectly fine. He thinks I’m perfectly healthy. He said to me: "You just have to get through it and you too are getting older." And compared to the people sitting in the waiting room, I would sign that straight away. At the same time, I don't wanna be okay, I want to burst with energy. My health is very important to me", and then thinking to myself: "Well, Mirjam. What’s it gonna be? You could simply accord with what her doctor actually said, all is perfectly fine, or do you really wanna open Pandora's box and disagree?"

Accord or Disagree. You already running?🏃

Could it get any sweeter?

There are many things waiting for my attention to be better understood about myself. What I rationalize, what I hold on to, what I protect, what I see as true or false, and how I master self preserve.

I grew up around the mentality "When there is a headache, treat the head; where there is pain in the foot, treat the foot", and I believed this to be absolute true and right. Heaven knew, I had spent a good 9 years of my life reaching more peculiarity in the things that this mentality is insisting to be wrong.

Qigong and life cultivation isn’t very accepted in this line of latitude, admittedly, so despite the growing peculiarity I decided that this was one case upon which I and acceptance would have to disagree.

Qi deficiency is very common. But it is not common sense.

I’d like to tell you, "I don’t defend how I see things", but is this true and right?

Is it that simple? Not so much.

Why?

>Perception<>Judgment<>Mentality<>Common Sense<

The part of totality of a human life we can only perceive by our ordinary senses is the physical reality. That leads our perception to see physical things as being a separate entity. Leading our views to judgement, to mentality, and to common sense that working on our health and wellbeing is to separate our body into pieces according to its physical structure, and investigate each piece separately.

How can totality of body, Qi, consciousness, heart, human nature and Shen, so many pieces indeed of which are not common sense, compete with just a single one, the physical reality, which is?

Our consciousness can only take in what "makes sense" to us, and is stored as a reference point in our reference system. The consciousness uses common knowledge and principles as our standards and criterion for understanding and making judgements. If something is compatible with, or can be explained by our reference points, it becomes valid and true, or "I can make meaning".

We act according to our perceptions, the judgements we make, the mentality we have about something, our common sense.

✍️"This makes sense".

If something is commonly seen as right and true, we want to do it or have it. When our consciousness, heart and the level of human nature identify with something, an object, or people and the condition is created "this is right, this is true", then our mechanisms will want this exact thing for our needs fulfillment.

If it is perceived and seen as "not right", "false"...

WE REACT.

Our very being will keep ourselves away from it or condemn it. It becomes invalid or untrue in our identification-belief-reference-system.

Our consciousness will only accept what is "true". If it is not based on common sense, it has no place, and it will be seen as "false" and it will be rejected.

WE RESIST.

We cannot focus or concentrate on something or someone that our mind does not understand.

✍️ "No common sense".

In Yuan Qigong life cultivation there are two teachings:

>>> When there is a gap between your thoughts and the teachings, try not to be too quick to judge. Maybe this gap is giving you the opportunity to learn something. Looking at the gap can be a good way of getting to know yourself too.

>>> You should not hold on to your ideas, your mentality, your common sense as though they are absolute truths and there is no room for improvement.

Everything is a double-edged sword. Life cultivation is a path to correct and uplift life, and it is also a double-edged sword. Often the teachings conflict with my current views of what I deem is right and true and how the "I" defines who I am today.

Right and wrong, true and false, accord and disagree. "Hmm, maybe there's something else that the "I" can't see?"

…it is indeed a double edged sword, is it not?
